Mahabalipuram

Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram, is a captivating coastal town in Tamil Nadu, India, steeped in history and cultural richness. Vandalur Zoo

Vandalur Zoo, also known as Arignar Anna Zoological Park, is located in Vandalur, Chennai, India. It is one of the largest and most prominent zoos in the country. Established in 1855, it covers an extensive area of around 1,490 acres, providing a spacious and natural habitat for its diverse range of wildlife. The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, and many more. Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, located in Tamil Nadu, India, is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. It is one of the oldest and most significant bird sanctuaries in the country. Spread across around 30 hectares, the sanctuary is home to a diverse array of migratory and resident bird species. Every year, thousands of birds flock to this sanctuary during the migratory season, making it a birdwatcher’s delight. Some of the commonly spotted birds include painted storks, herons, egrets, pelicans, and spoonbills.

Varadharaja Perumal Temple

Varadharaja Perumal Temple, also called Hastagiri and Attiyuran, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu located in the city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu believed to have been visited by the 12 poet saints, or the Alvars.[1] It is located in a suburb of Kanchipuram known as the Vishnu Kanchi that is a home for many famous Vishnu temples. One of the greatest Hindu scholars of Vaishnava Vishishtadvaita philosophy, Ramanuja, is believed to have resided in this temple.

Devanatha Hayagreevar Vishnu Temple

Devanathar Hayagreevar Vishnu Temple is situated at a distance of 30 Km from Chennai in a place called Chettipunyam. The main deity of this Temple is Lord Vishnu, and is called as Sri VaradharajaPerumal here. Devi HemambujaNayaki also has a separate shrine in this temple. The lord who is also called as Hayagriva is sitting alone in this temple without his consort in pose of penance.The God here is said to be the provider of good knowledge and education. Students come here in thousands to offer their prayers during their examination and their educational tools and books at the feet of the lord before appearing for the examinations.

Singaperumal Koil

Singaperumalkoil Temple, located near Chengalpet, is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord “Paatalathri Narasimhar” and goddesses, Lakshmi, in the name of “Ahobilavalli”. This is one of the ancient temples dating back to the 8th century, built in a rock-cut architecture (the structure is created by carving out natural hillock).

Hanumanthapuram Temple

Hanumanthapuram is a very remote village near Chengalpattu. The village is located off the road going from Chengalpattu towards Thirupporur after Perunthandalam and Senneri villages. The road that leads to this village is not easily motorable and is amidst the reserved forest zone .Hanumanthapuram has an ancient temple where the main deity is Sri Agora Veerabadhra Swamy and Goddess Sri Kaalikaambal. Dhakshan (son of Sri Brahma and father of Sri Parvathi) performed a Yagnya. 

Kolavai Lake

Kolavai lake, one of the largest waterbodies in Chengalpattu district, may soon be rejuvenated as a recreational space and developed as a source of water for Chennai. Located 50 km from the city, the lake adjoining the railway line has been polluted with sewage released from the town. The Water Resources Department has started preliminary work to remove the sludge in the foreshore of the lake.

ECR Beach

ECR (East Coast Road), also known as SH 49, is one such location. It is a four-lane Tamil Nadu highway connecting the state’s capital, Chennai, with Cuddalore via Pondicherry. East Coast Road in Chennai is one of the most beautiful roads in the city and has long been a favorite for late-night road trips.

DakshinaChitra is an exciting cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts of South India. The main mission is to exhibit, promote and preserve aspects of the broader, more inclusive cultures of the states and to bring these arts to the public in a participative, enjoyable and engaging way. DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum , a project of Madras Craft Foundation an NGO was opened to the public on December 14th 1996. The Museum is located overlooking the Bay of Bengal, at Muttukadu, twenty five kilometers south of Central Chennai, on the East Coast Road to Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, India.
